Event Promo for Diggers Delight

While the 2010 Arab Spring helped support the creative/artistic sectors in the Middle East, the majority of its members remained oblivious to how fragile these industries are, that is until 2020. This fragility is in part due to the fact that the majority of these sectors are based on superb individual efforts, with little to no government support. Throw in a global pandemic threatening the collapse of the global economy and a ban on any business model that thrives on little social distancing, and you’ve landed yourself between a rock and a hard place. For a country like Lebanon, the pandemic wasn’t even the start of its trials and tribulations, but only came second to the notoriously drawn out revolution, still underway since October 2019. March 2020 then rolled around and leveled the playing field, leaving most musicians, promoters and promoters in precarious positions across the region. We decided to reach out to DJs, producers and other music industry professionals from around the Middle East during the pandemic to tell us their thoughts, how they’re dealing with the pandemic/revolution, the positives and negatives they’re taking way from this, and most importantly how they’re feeling about this big pause the industry has been brought to.
